I really enjoyed being tutored by Alicia for about 5-6 months during 2017 via Skype. Because of her clear and helpful exam tips and the skills and information that she had taught me during the year, I was well equipped, and achieved a great result. Alicia is an excellent teacher who gives helpful comments on assignments, prompt communication and well-presented information. My lessons with Alicia not only refined my English skills, but also raised my awareness of current issues, and helped me to think deeper about events happening in our city, country and world. I would highly recommend Alicia to anyone who needs an English tutor!

I received tutoring from Alicia throughout the 2017 school year, on a weekly basis, from around May till October. With her guidance I grew hugely in my English skills, felt really well prepared and confident going into exam time, and was able to achieve the grades I aimed for. I appreciated that she always gave honest, constructive feedback on my work. I could tell that she knew the subject material super well and she was an excellent teacher too, giving clear explanations of each writing genre and guiding me as I learnt to analyse passages. Alicia was professional, easy to communicate with, and I really enjoyed learning with her help.

Alicia has worked with my three older children, helping them each to achieve great results in CIE English Language exams at AS level. Alicia is well organised, well prepared, prompt and thorough. She knows the curriculum very well and the standards that are expected. My children felt extremely well prepared and faced the exam with confidence, knowing they could do the work. As they are homeschooled Alicia was their only teacher and their results are due to her input. I highly recommend Alicia for any English tutoring.

Thank you for teaching me for the last two years. I feel like I have learnt heaps and I'm really happy with my exam result.
I couldn't have done so well without your help.

I am an older adult and recently undertook the process of publishing a book of poetry and establishing a website. Alicia’s skill and experience was invaluable to me as she helped me with copy writing, proof reading, and editing. She was able to patiently steer me through the necessary processes, carefully explaining and instructing on the way. Alicia is a true professional; well experienced in her specialty, and yet able to thoughtfully and kindly adapt her skills to working with different age groups. Her pleasant manner combined with her wide experience as a tutor, ensures that a novice or an already published author would benefit from Alicia’s skills.

Alicia has worked with our children for five years with both Cambridge & NCEA. Alicia is a dedicated, talented teacher and has an in depth knowledge of the English language. She puts a particular emphasis on organisation and structure which served our children extremely well and enabled them to achieve the best exam results. I would highly recommend Alicia to anyone looking for a tutor in this area.

It is our pleasure and privilege to write a reference regarding Alicia who tutored all three of our children for the years of 2009 to 2011, starting when they were 9,10 and 13 years of age, and who returned last year to help our daughter with her NCEA studies. Alicia was able to adapt to their very different abilities and personalities, and certainly helped each of them to achieve their highest potential. Our eldest son achieved 'Top of the World' at age 14 in IGCSE English Literature, in no small part due to Alicia's talented and thorough tuition.

I have had the pleasure of employing Alicia Leitch as an English tutor for my two children since 2013. Firstly, she tutored my son through Cambridge exams (IG level). His results were a real testament to Alicia's ability to get the best out of him. He had started the year not being able to construct just a few sentences together; by the time exams came round we all felt he had a good chance of passing. None of us expected 82% for his result. The following year my daughter and another home-schooled child enjoyed weekly lessons. Alicia is incredibly well-organised and thorough. She is also adaptable, being able to tutor towards Cambridge, NCEA or creative writing. A very professional and kind person too.

Alicia Leitch taught at Westgate Homeschool Group for 4 years starting in term one of 2008 and finished at the end of 2011. Alicia successfully taught ongoing creative writing and art classes with the Year 1 through to Year 12 children[...]She taught to a very high standard. Alicia developed each child's confidence in their ability to both write and create artworks, work together in a group setting and develop interest in the arts. The parental feedback on all Alicia's classes was positive and affirming with students being keen to rejoin her classes each term.

Alicia was employed at school earlier this year to work with some writers from Year 5 to Year 8. She worked with a total of 4 different groups on their creative writing, on a weekly basis spread over two terms. The students really enjoyed working with Alicia. The sessions were designed to stretch the most able students and through a range of sessions this certainly happened. Prior to commencing the sessions Alicia was able to share her planning and ideas. Alicia was also able to adjust her programme to fit alongside current priorities at school, such as proof reading skills. She developed good relationships with the students and tailored her sessions to meet their needs.
