About me

I think we all start out knowing the fun of creativity as we use paint and writing tools for the first time. I remember making my own 'books' with sellotape and wads of scrap paper when I was about five.

The desire to be creative has taken various forms over the years, and it always surfaces in one way or another. Sometimes this gets a little buried as we get older, but it's something we need to hold on to. It's never too late to be creative again.

What I believe

I believe creativity is ingrained in all people. It may emerge in a myriad of ways - writing and art are only two of these.

my History

After high school, I did a Bachelor of Arts in English (First Class Honours) and then I was accepted to do a Master's degree in Creative Writing. So, after five years of full time study at the University of Auckland, I was well-versed in both academic and creative writing. Since then, I've been using this knowledge to teach children who are educated at home or in schools about Creative Writing and general English skills, and I've also dabbled in teaching Art.

Overall I've had more than ten years experience tutoring school aged students at Primary and Secondary levels, and more recently I've had some experience in proofreading and editing for adults. I've also published several of my own books. I never get tired of those moments where people discover their own creative and expressive potential!
